An Apple a Day Keeps Asthma Away?

We have all heard the old platitude An apple a day keeps the Doctor away, but what if apples have real, tangible health benefits?  Reaserchers have recently shown that babies whose mothers ate four apples per week while pregnant are less likely to develope asthma later in life.  Another study by the National Heart and Lung Institute found that children who drink apple juice daily are 50 percent less likely to suffer from weezing.  Reserchers are unsure as to how exactly these benefits come into effect.  However, the benefits speak volumes about the therapeutic potential of everyday food items.

Nature has found a way to balance the phytochemicals in apples in such a way that people can experience these benefits without needing to 'modify' anything (the modification of naturally occuring phytochemicals is where perscription drugs come from).  After all, if one were to make even a small change to the chemical structure of an apple, whose to say whether of not it would possess these benefits?  That is why here at Cox Family Chiropractic our nutritional supplements come from 'whole food' sources, meaning that, rather than trying to isolate specific phytochemicals in order to derive certain benefits, our supplements include the source in its entirity.  In this way, patients are sure to recieve all the available benefits that nature provides.
